This Global Neuro webinar has been developed for healthcare providers in prehospital medicine, emergency medicine, neurosurgery, neurology, critical care/ICU environments, and surgical settings. It is for anyone managing or interested in traumatic brain injury, particularly in the acute phase of resuscitation. It will be particularly high-yield for those individuals who help generate prehospital protocols for EMS systems.
This Webinar presents the newly developed, 3rd edition of the Guidelines for Prehospital Management of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) by the Brain Trauma Foundation. Prehospital Care markedly influences outcomes from TBI and compliance with guidelines has been associated with significantly improved survival of patients. This Webinar features the main authors of the guidelines, presents the guidelines’ content, and discusses its benefits and limitations.
By completing this webinar, participants will be better able to:
- Describe the principles of prehospital TBI care.
- Summarize the content of the 3rd edition of the prehospital guidelines.
- Assess the impacts of implementing prehospital guidelines for TBI care.
- Analyze the benefits and limitations of the guidelines in different resource settings.
